Happy New Year!
It has become a routine now...
Every night I go into my little house... the little nest. Like a bird, I look around making sure I was unseen and quicker than a moment, I poke into my hole and into the little lair. It's cosy in here. I am having a good time at this. It is a test of humility for sure, but with each day that passes, I am beginning to leave the regular world of the rat race, pride and the lust for material things.
It is liberating... and peaceful.
I am happy.
Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI just read your last two posts, and liked them both.
Christmas can be a joyous occasion, especially if you get the true spirit.
My most fun this year was adopting a family of four that had fallen on hard times. Seeing their faces as they happily received gifts of new clothing and about a week's worth of food made the season for me and my wife.

Less really is more!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Bob!
ReplyDeleteI did something similar for Christmas.
I went out and volunteered at the Meals on Wheels program. I even saw myself on local TV that same night! Apparently, a reporting crew was there. I thought the guy was just looking around --did not know he had the camera on.
Well, we made a lot of meals that morning. Very tiring work but oh so sweet. It's how I love to spend my Christmases now.
I am glad to hear your adopted family loved what you gave them. They will remember that all their lives, I bet.
Happy New Year, Steve!
ReplyDeleteIndeed, less IS more. I have never felt so peaceful and serene. It now feels like any other home at any other time... except it is all mine. That's one of the reasons why I feel so happy, I suppose.
Hey there! So good to hear your enjoying your home. Happy New Year!!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! It's truly the simple life isn't it?
